Sean Lynch

Sean Lynch is currently the Head of School at Chinese International School, a position he has held since August 2018. A lifelong language learner, he is fluent in French and English, speaks German and Spanish, and is currently learning Mandarin Chinese. With a distinguished career in international education, Sean has previously served in other schools around the world, including as Head of School at the Lycée Francais de New York, and Director of the American Section at the Lycée International de Saint Germain-en-Laye in Paris. In addition, he served for ten years at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) as a lecturer in the political sciences. Active in community service, Sean has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Green Schools Alliance in the United States, and continues to be an Advisor.


Over his career as an educator, Sean has received numerous awards, among them, the Klingenstein Fellowship (conferred by Columbia University) and the Ordre des Palmes Académiques (conferred by the French Government). He holds a BA History from Yale University, an MA Education Administration and MSc Curriculum Development from Michigan State University, and a DEA from Sciences Po.

Sean joined the Foundation’s Board in August 2019.
